Final error: 0xe00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed
I had installed a new domain controller with Windows 2003 Server R2 and installed the remote agent from the backup server which was running Backup Exec 10. It didn't matter if I tried to backup one file or the whole server it would fail with the error listed above. I tried everything I could to the job and also installed all the latest updates (sp5) but nothing worked.
To fix this I found that you had to upgrade to 10.1 which is a free download from here http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/279332.htm, after it was downloaded I unzipped the file and installed the program which kept all my serial numbers and basically just did a in place upgrade. Once this was complete and I rebooted the server I pushed out the remote agent again and then I was able to back up the R2 server with no errors at all.
